I retired from the US Army in 1995 and then worked in the civilian sector for 15 years as the Vice President of Operations for a major cookware company in California and then six more years with DoD. During my time in service, I was assigned government quarters for myself and my family. This is where I began working on household projects as well as working on my own vehicle and many other's as well. I understood the need for good maintenance and also believed that taking good care of any investment, your home, your car or anything in the home that you may consider a capital investment, would provide you dividends in the form of lower maintenance costs and delayed purchases for replacements as well.
As a maintenance technician in the military, I always felt that the best form of recognition for the work you do is through the feedback from the owner and their recommendation to others to use you for similar maintenance activities. The military also provided me with the perfect opportunity to hone my skills as a troubleshooter, while identifying the item(s) at fault that needed to be replaced, minimizing costs and shorten the return to fully operational status.
One of the most important things you can do to maintain your home is through a good Preventive Maintenance (PM) program. These PM steps are key to a home, and maintaining the home in a manner which provides comfort and relaxation knowing your home is maintained in the same manner you would care for your own home. This PM program can include, but not limited to, air filters, water filters, sink traps, air duct obstructions, heater cleaning, dishwasher cleaning (calcium buildup), faucet aerators (clogged by sediment and calcium), garage door tracks and rollers, and door hinges, just to name a few.
Besides PM, I can also provide a wide range of repair activities, installation of appliances and other electrical or plumbing-related actions, electrical work including additional outlets, dedicated circuits, ceiling fans, some computer repair, printers, fax, wireless routers, TV, phone and coax and cable, including Cat 5 cables and wall outlets. I have experience repairing vacuums, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers as well.
If you have other larger projects in mind, like wood fencing, storm doors, bathroom windows, decks and interior additions, including basements, these can also be designed, plans drawn, and a bill of materials provided, statement of work to be performed, to help in the decision making process.
I can also provide you with the project request form, all pictures and CAD drawings for you to sign and submit to the Radisson Architectural Committee or local townships like Clay, Hastings, Cicero, or if you want I can submit the project (permit) packet for you after you have signed it.
In the warmer months, I can also provide additional services for your gutters, downspouts, sump pump drains, driveway coating, siding pressure wash, window washing, deck pressure wash-stain-paint-water repellent, wood fencing, and deck design and construction. I can install egress wells (NFPA Fire Code) and finished basements with full baths.
I offer simple written contracts for major work for your convenience and peace-of-mind, all other work can be done in writing or whatever you decide is best and convenient for you.
I hope to hear from you soon and give me the opportunity to start working with you on the care, maintenance, and projects for your home.
